Over the past three decades, Dunn Industries has served the medical device industry with precision polymer extrusions used in life-saving, minimally invasive instruments and other healthcare devices.  Development assistance and short custom tubing lead times for device prototypes has been the hallmark of our service.  Our customers equally value our scale-up ability to support clinical trials and production.

We continue to innovate our extrusion technologies as medical devices become smaller and more complex in order to reach more distal regions within the body.  This includes smaller and more lumens per tube, multiple polymer layers, thinner walls and tapers along the length.

Dunn manufactures tubes with outside diameters as small as 0.008 inches with 0.002 inch wall thicknesses, and with outside diameters as large as 0.480 inches. These are available in custom dimensions and configurations from a wide range of thermoplastics, including polyolefins, polyamides, thermoplastic polyurethanes, polyesters, polycarbonates and much more.

Dunn is a leader in the manufacture of acetal cores used for the manufacturing of minimally invasive catheter shafts. These cores are available in precise diameters from 0.020 to 0.250 inches with tolerances as low as +/- 0.0005 inches. Medical catheter manufacturers throughout the world use Dunn’s Catheter Cores to retain critical lumen tolerances during extrusion, braiding, coiling and jacketing processes. Low friction material properties and ultra-smooth surfaces allow these cores to be easily removed after catheter shaft assembly.
